- Heat exhaustion: caused by excessive sweating, dehydration and electrolyte loss (slightly hypothermia, excessive sweating).
- Heatstroke: Impairment of central thermoregulation leads to inability to dissipate heat in the body (severe high body temperature, dry skin).
- Some patients develop heat exhaustion before heatstroke.
Common symptoms of heat exhaustion
- Nausea, vomiting, fatigue, weakness, headache, dizziness, muscle spasm and pain.

- Some people may have heat stroke without warning. Different people may have different symptoms of heat stroke. Common symptoms of heatstroke include:
- High body temperature, no sweating, rapid pulse, dyspnea, abnormal behavior, hallucination, disorientation, agitation, anxiety, mental disorder, confusion with time, place and people, convulsions, and coma.
