Cervical spine is located in the area of neck and composed of seven cervical bones; it is an important pathway for conducting brain command; so if it is injured, it could incur fatality.

Treatment
- Medication is often prescribed for pain control.
- Patients are required to wear neck collar.
- If there is no spodylolisthesis or fractures, rehabilitation is highly recommended.
- If patients still suffer from severe symptoms like complicated herniated disc problem, fractures, or spondylolisthesis, they often required to undergo operation.
Preventions
- Maintain accurate body postures
- Follow traffic regulations and fasten your seat belt when driving
- Avoid dangerous activities like wild car racing or diving
- For injured patients, adequate neck collar protection is mandatory during the healing process.
