Foreword

Hysteroscope examination could be divided into flexible and rigid types. Our hospital uses the flexible type to enter uterine cavity to observe conditions inside.

Goal

The goal of hysteroscope is to examine the inside of the uterus, which may including endometrium, including adhesion, endometrial polyp, endometrial tumor,myoma  and congental anomaly.

Before the examination

Anesthesia is unnecessary; just fill out the consent form.

In examination

1. After sterilizing vagina and cervix, hysteroscope is inserted through vigina to cervix and uterine cavity; 5% of glucose water would be applied to flush uterine cavity, so physicians are able to closely and clearly observe endometrium cavity.
2. During the procedure, patients might feel discomfort with the flush of saline water and 5% of glucose water.
3. It often takes approximately 10 minutes for the examination.

After the examination

Do not panic if there is watery secretion because it is from saline or 5% glucose water used during the examination.

Note

1. Please take out vaginal gauze voluntarily if needed.
2. Timely take medicine as instructed by the doctors.
3. Return to the hospital for follow-up checks as appointment made with the doctor.
