Dr. Ping-Chin Lai specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney diseases; including kidney transplantation, acute and chronic kidney disease, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension, and diabetes. Dean Lai has extensive experience in kidney transplantation and is good at other kidney-related diseases. Kidney disease usually manifests in hematuria, proteinuria, electrolyte abnormalities, edema, and accompanying hypertension; patients with chronic renal failure (referred to as chronic renal failure) must be considered for hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or kidney transplantation.

Dr. Joung-Liang Lan, is a specialist of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology. He served as Visiting Scholar of Johns Hopkins Center, USA. He earned as the Master Award from Taiwan College of Rheumatology (TCR, 2013) and Asia-Pacific League of Associations of Rheumatology (APLAR, 2017). Currently, he serves as an advisor to the Dean’s office of CMUH and Distinguished Professor of China Medical Univ. He served as President of TCR (2009-2011). His research interests include pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and connective tissue diseases associated with interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD). The laboratory focuses on identifying the novel biomarkers and autoantibodies for diagnosing autoimmune disease and monitoring progression of CTD-ILD. He is the principal investigator of more than fifty international clinical trials (phase I-III,1995-2024).

Dr. Der-Yuan Chen, is a specialist of Allergy, Immunology, Rheumatology. He earned as an excellent Dr. of CMUH (2022), the Master Award from Taiwan College of Rheumatology (TCR) (2023) and Asia-Pacific League of Associations of Rheumatology (APLAR) (2024). He serves as the director/vice superintendent of Rheumatology/Immunology Center of CMUH. He served as President of TCR (2014-2016). His research interests include immunopathogenesis of autoimmune diseases (SLE, RA) and autoinflammatory disease (AOSD), an association of infection with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, and the safety profile of biological/targeted synthetic DMARDs. With an excellent achievement in SLE research, he has won the SLE Academic Research Award from the Society of Immunology and participated in the development of APLAR guidelines for SLE treatment (Lancet Rheumatology 2022). He has thirty-five AOSD-related papers published in SCI journals, including Ann Rheum Dis and Arthritis Rheumatol, and also by Kelly's textbooks of Rheumatology. He has been awarded an outstanding researcher by various organizations. With 265 peer-reviewed publications in SCI Journals (~2025.01), He was listed as one of the World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2020-2024 [Citation: 11,100, H-index: 55 and i10-index: 209 (Google Scholar, 2025.01)]
Chwen-Tzuei Chang

Dr.Chang studied for a year at National Taiwan University in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism and another one year at UCLA in the United States. He has served as the Director of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Department and the Deputy Director of the Internal Medicine Department at China Medical University Hospital. Dr. Chang's clinical and research interests include the treatment of diabetes and thyroid diseases, particularly the clinical interpretation of thyroid ultrasound for predicting malignant tumors.
Shih-Peng Yeh

Dr. Su-Peng Yeh served as the Secretary-General of the Taiwanese Society of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and has been an Executive Director of the Society since 2010. He is currently the Vice Superintendent of the Department of Internal Medicine at our hospital. Dr. Yeh specializes in hematopoietic stem cell (bone marrow) transplantation, with over 100 successful transplant cases under his belt. He is also proficient in various cancer chemotherapies and transfusion medicine. In 2006, Dr. Yeh spent a year at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, focusing his research on gene therapy for breast cancer. Furthermore, Dr. Yeh actively participates in numerous clinical trials for hematologic malignancies and rare blood disorders. He is a key member of the Steering Committee for several of these trials and is the physician with the most extensive experience in CAR-T cell therapy at our hospital.

Chang-Fang Chiu, M.D., Ph.D., is currently the Director of the Cancer Center at China Medical University Hospital. He completed his training at the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA. Dr. Chiu possesses extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various malignant tumors and hematological diseases. He established a patient-centered, multidisciplinary team approach to care, which is applied to over twenty major cancer types. He also built a comprehensive hematopoietic stem cell transplantation care system, dedicated to providing patients with high-quality medical care.

Professor Tsai is the current Dean of the College of Medicine at China Medical University and the Director of the Neurology Department at its affiliated hospital. He has served as the President of the Taiwan Movement Disorder Society and as a council member of the International Parkinson's and Movement Disorder Society for the Asia-Pacific region. Professor Tsai is an expert in clinical neurophysiology and involuntary movement disorders, specializing in the application of neurophysiological modulation and focused ultrasound treatment for Parkinson's patients. In addition to his clinical work and research, he is also deeply committed to medical education. He was awarded the 2020 Taiwan Medical Model Award.
