The disease characteristics and progression of cancers may vary widely. The professional views on the diagnosis, clinical stages, and treatment of cancer can also divergent. Although early diagnosis is still viewed as the key element to treatment sucess, people continue to have the misperception that treatments of terminal stage cancer is rarely effective, which has led many people to believe that cancer is incurable. However, with the recent advances in medicine and biotechnology, more than one half of cancer patients can now be cured. Such a endevor requires multidisciplinary teamwork and syndicated health care that can be best delivered in medical centers. CMUH aims to cater these integrated oncological needs for patients as one of the main medical centers in central Taiwan and provide 4.5 million people with well-organized and patient-oriented cancer care.
