An introduction to the Multidisciplinary Team in Lung Cancers at China Medical University Hospital, Taichung, Taiwan
The Multidisciplinary Team consist of chest physicians, chest surgeons, radio-oncologist, radiologist, pathologist, traditional Chinese medicine doctor, case managers, study nurses and other healthcare professionals who all have specialist training and experience in the diagnosis, care and treatment of lung cancers.
The Department of Radiation Oncology at CMUH provides comprehensive radiotherapy services. We offer the most advanced radiotherapy equipment in mid-Taiwan. There are five state-of-the-art linear accelerators for radiation treatment including the second generation Varian Medical Systems TrueBeam linear accelerator, as well as high dose rate brachytherapy to treat gynaecological malignancies.
A full range of external beam radiation therapy treatments are offered, including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT); Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT); Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT); Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS); Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) / Stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) and CT scanning equipped with intravenous contrast and respiratory gating. These treatments, combined with our 3D planning computer systems, incorporate the most advanced technology to ensure the highest quality of care is given to all patients.
Since 2016, we got two certificates of symbol of national quality (SNQ): Multi-modality imaging guidance for cancer patient management, high precision personalized radiotherapy for uterine cervical cancer.
