Continuous preparation of talents despite the pandemic and profound engagement in international health care
According to Der-Yang Cho, Superintendent, approximately 1900 patients have come from the Philippines seeking medical treatments at CMUH since 2016. Despite the pandemic, CMUH has been engaged in the training and exchange of medical professionals. The signature of a MOU with the city government of Butuan, which oversees the Butuan Municipal Hospital, marks the inception of cooperation with health care systems in the Philippines. Apart from private relationships, this cooperation initiative with the public health care system through local government represents further trust and bears exceptional significance.
The MOU is greatly appreciated by Mayor RONNIE VICENTE C. LAGNADA for corroborating the friendship and trust between both parties. On the basis of reciprocity and intensive cooperation, local hospitals may benefit from the learning experiences of one another in order to become an excellent provider of medical services for its citizens.
MOU benefits citizens in both countries and realizes a wonderful city vision with dignity
Ambassador Michael Peiyung Hsu said that CMUH is a top-notch medical center in Taiwan. Mayor Lagnada initially expressed his wish to learn from the health care system in Taiwan in 2019, hoping to establish the Municipal Hospital as an outstanding institution and create a quality city. Such a hope is expected to be realized with the signing of the MOU, benefiting the citizens of both countries.
According to President Fernandez, the cooperation will maximize the expected results. More gripping life-saving stories are surely anticipated in Butuan City, where citizens will experience the true significance of a successful model of medical and health care cooperation.
An unprecedented medical cooperation initiative between Taiwan and the Philippines facilitated by the III
Thanks to the dedication of the International Division of the III, four forums have been convened in order to facilitate industry connections in both countries, leading to 24 MOUs being signed.
