Benefits of Hearing Aids for Both Ears 雙耳配戴助聽器的好處

Listen to the World around You with Both Ears

In daily life, it is very important to be able to hear and distinguish the source of sound. Only when both ears receive sound from the outside world and transmit it to the brain for processing can we identify the source of the sound. Only under the normal operation of both ears can we improve our ability to distinguish sounds in noisy environments and enhance our understanding of speech and orientation.

Hearing Impairment

Hearing impairment reduces our ability to understand voice and identify the source of sound around us. Hearing aids can now be used to maximize the remaining hearing. If one ear has hearing loss, it should be equipped with a hearing aid, and the same is true for both ears.

The advantages are as follows:

  • improve sound quality and tone perception
  • identify sound sources
  • better at understanding speech sounds in a noisy environment
  • slow down speech recognition regression
  • reduce auditory memory degradation

Auditory Stimuli

Some people believe that the use of hearing aids may aggravate the hearing, or that the amplified sound of the hearing aids may damage the rest of the hearing. In fact, our ears and auditory pathways to the brain need to be stimulated by sound to develop the remaining auditory capacity. Audiologists have found that if the ear is not stimulated for a long period of time, the hearing may deteriorate gradually.

Most people with hearing loss, once getting used to hearing aids in both ears, are able to engage in conversations with friends and family, navigate and rehear sounds they haven't heard in years, thereby improving their quality of life and experiencing a totally different new life.
