Description of Therapy

Botox^® can block the nerve impulses between nerves and muscles, causing the facial muscles to fully relax. Through the relaxation of the facial muscles, the amount of facial wrinkles will reduce, but will also disappear. Therapy Risks

Apart from the skin rush, allergy, and itchiness from the application of analgesia medicine, common contact dermatitis includes the following:

1. Temporary red and swollen skin after therapy, or the skin bruise caused by injection.
2. Botulinum toxin can cause minor temporary facial stiffness, muscular asymmetry between facial expression, drooping eyelid, or eyebrow and muscle weakness.
3. do Not use for patients of myasthenia Gravis, protein allergy, and patients using neurotransmitters.
4. Patients using aspirin or anticoagulants are suggested to discontinue for 3 days before injection to avoid apparent bruise.

Durability of Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum toxin causes muscles to experience temporary denervation so the muscles will reduce the contracting intensity. In about 6 months, the previous muscular functions will restore. Hence the therapy effect of botulinum toxin will gradually disappear. 

Daily care after treatment

Within 4 hours after Botox injection, please do not lie down, bend over, or strenuous physical activities to avoid drug diffusion to non-treated areas, causing improper relaxation of other muscles and unnatural expressions.
