2024/1/9

What should you know before the operation?

  • Before the operation, identify yourself, your chief surgeon and members of the medical team, and agree to and know the surgical site clearly.
  • Anesthesia can be roughly divided into three types:
  • Topical anesthesia: it is a short-time anesthesia targeted at a specific site, such as tooth extraction. This type of anesthesia does not mean that every step is painless.
  • Hemianesthesia: This is a wide range of anesthesia for the lower half of the body. It usually lasts for several hours and the patient is mostly awake during the operation until the end.
  • General anesthesia: During the operation, there will be no consciousness until the end.
  • Ask your doctor to inform you of the risks, effects and future benefits of the operation so that you can decide whether you need to undergo the operation now or not.
  • In order to avoid choking in the esophagus, causing aspiration pneumonia, be sure to let your doctor know if you have eaten anything before the operation.
