Prep before the Examination
- Pregnant or possibility of being pregnant cannot have this procedure. Please inform your care provider in advance.
- Kidney dialysis patients please bring your own dialysate.
Examination Method
- The images will be created after radioactive isotope is injected into the dialysate and flow in the abdomen through kidney dialysis tubes.
- The images need to be created 3 times and it takes about 5 minutes each time. Patients may leave the department for a short time while the images are being created. The entire procedure is completed in about 6 hours. The procedure can be finished early when leakage is detected.
- Patients may leave the building after the procedure is completed.
Cautions
- If there is a possibility of being pregnant, do not undergo this procedure. Please inform your care provider in advance.
- Do not move during the procedure to enhance image quality.
- Please avoid contact with babies and pregnant women the day you receive the low dose radioactive isotope injection. No obvious side effects will occur when in touch with babies and pregnant women. Please do not worry.
