Precocious puberty is defined as the early pubertal onset before the normal age. Girls have secondary sexual characteristics before the age of 8 and boys the age of 9, or girls start menstruation before the age of 10. The occurance of precocious puberty has been increasing in the recent years. This disease has become a common issue for child growth. Moreover, many studies showed that precocious puberty had negative influences on children later on in terms of height, physiological and psychological health, no longer just the matter of height. Current Western medicine majorly uses gonadotropin releasing hormone analogue to treat central precocious puberty (CPP). However, the recent experiments proved that Chinese medicine could be an alternative for precocious puberty treatment.
