Prevention and Care for Abdominal Masses and Blockage (How patients with tumor can relax and be happy) 癥瘕積聚的預防與保健(腫瘤病人如何放鬆、快樂)

Cancer is no longer an incurable disease but is still shadowed by the limitation of effect from western medicine. From the initial stage of diagnosis to the treatment, patients can take into consideration of alternative treatment. We provide the following suggestions.

Relaxation

Relax the body muscles and nerves consciously so all parts of the body can be completely relaxed. Talk to your body and feel if your body receives your message carefully. In the relaxation process, pay attention to “conscious focus,” namely concentrate your mind and soul to one focus. Your consciousness will reach a state of cleanness and comfort when relaxed.

Happiness

Modern medical findings show that cancer patient laugh regularly will alleviate the condition of illness.

Laughter can produce at least the following functions to the human body:

  • Clear the respiratory tract and boost lung capacity.
  • Relieve healthy emotion.
  • Promote blood circulation and boost immunity.
  • Relax the muscles.
  • Release excess strength.
  • Eliminate worries.
  • Eliminate nerve tension and reduces psychological stress.
  • Helps with overcoming timid emotion, awkward sensation and various worries to increase the interaction and friendship between people.

Recommendation of Approach to Happiness

  • Learn to smile for triggering your pleasant mood. Smile at the mirror and once you start laughing, continue to laugh until you burst into laughter. Practice for a few times a day and 10~15 minutes per try. You will need to smile at others with more effects after the practice.
  • Stay with “happy people” more. Research shows that the emotion of people is “contagious,” where cancer patients staying with happy people not only will be effected by the joy but can also know and solve problems through optimistic and positive approach in addition to developing habit of happiness. 
  • “Search and discover happiness” with your heart. Happiness is not something people give but requires your voluntary acquisition. I tis important for cancer patients to “have their own fun.” As long as they are devoted, they will find joy everywhere. 
  • Choosing the broadcasting program with “humor,” “funny” or “standup comedian”, TV program or other media such as video tape, CD, and VCD, can bring your strong infection of happiness through their lively performance. 
  • Prepare one’s relaxation manual and collect one’s favorite humor stories, jokes, comics and others. Record interesting things in life so that you can smile with the manual when you read from time to time. 

Dance with Music

Moreover, music has significant regulation function on people physically and mentally, which has been proved by modern medical research. European countries and U.S. have started treating various diseases through music therapy. Music is one regular acoustic vibration which coordinates the tempo of the different organs in the body and inspires the potential. Research shows that the body of human is constantly vibrating with certain rhythm, similar to the regularity and rhythm of the biological clock of human. When the tempo of your body resounds with the tempo of music and melody, you will have the sense of pleasure. When you hear a melodic, touching and joyful song, particularly the music that coincides with your mood, it will produce a magic effect, so you can forget about the pain inside but gradually enter a state of peaceful mind, pleasure and joy.

When you listen to the music, you should be fully devoted to the movement of music. In general, listen to the music 2~3 times a day and for 30~50 minutes per session. Adjust the volume to comfortable level and choose the music by your own preference.

Using music to regulate the emotion not can one listen but also sing with the music. The so-called humming is when one sings with the music unconsciously and in relaxation, which over the long run will benefit the body physically and mentally.

Additionally, perceiving the beautiful melody of the nature such as the babbling sound of mountain streams, seawater splashing the coast, wind breezing through the forest, birds chirping, insect sound, sound of wind blowing through the pine trees, and other natural symphony can make people pleasant and free, open the mind, relax spiritually, and bring the music therapy into full effect.

A little adjustment in life in exchange of big healthy in body is worth the effort.
