When to wear your splint

      □ Wear for 24 hours ( Can be removed temporarily during shower and when changing the dressing. Please maintain the original posture. )

      □ Daytime only   □ Nighttime only

      □Remove to rest for ______ minutes after wearing for every

        _____ hours.

      □ Continue to use the splint until returning to the hospital for follow-up. Remove the splint under medical advice only.

Instructions for splint use

• The splint is made of low-temperature molded plastic, which softens and deforms under high temperature. Avoid places of high temperature for storage and wearing the splint. Splint should avoid contact or approach to hot water or heat ( It is necessary to remove the splint temporarily before shower ). Please stop wearing the splint once it is deformed or shows pressure point.   
• Clean the splint and wipe off the stain gently with regular cleaner and water. Rinse the splint with water and wipe dry before wearing.
• Please keep the hand/leg and the splint clean and dry.
• If the patient experiences discomfort, pressure or swelling from wearing the splint, please record the area of swelling or discomfort in order to inform the therapist later for adjustment.
