Product feature
An artificial nasolacrimal duct is used for patients with lacrimal canalicular stenosis to maintain lacrimal duct patency.
Use reason and indication
Lacrimal canalicular stenosis (caused by congenital or acquired chronic inflammation).
Postoperative precautions
- After the insertion of an artificial nasolacrimal duct, nosebleeds often occur, for which cotton balls are sometimes needed to stop the bleeding in the nose.
- Apply an ice compress for 6 to 8 hours to relieve swelling, pain and bleeding.
- On the day upon completion of operation, you can get out of bed and use the toilet.
- If there is no vomiting after the operation, you can eat liquid food, and then a normal diet the following day.
- Use antibiotic eye drops or ointments as directed by your doctor to prevent eye infections and inflammation. Use the medicine for about 3 weeks.
- If pus-like discharge occurs again on the affected side, it may be a recurrence of dacryocystitis. Hospital visits should be made to determine whether medication or surgery should be given.

- Lacrimal duct infection.
